September Circle Reflection, Forming Connections

"Our Circle is open and never ever broken. Merry meet, merry part and merry meet again."
This first month of Circle has introduced us to the meaning of connection and tender development of authentic support, safety and honor of speaking and listening from the heart.  Our circle is beginning and facilitators have requested consistency of commitment meeting each week for the school year and if needing to leave earlier, a group focused ending of participant's time in circle is offered with kindness to the transition.
Like all sustainable programs we seek weekly consistency of practice in the connection bridging and building. The Fire glows bright in safety development this first month, even when participants know one another outside of circle.  We facilitators and participants sit alert in learning through our listening about each person we are honored to hold eye contact and active participation and inquiry of our senses alongside.  We eat healthy snacks at circle.  Snacks become an intentional honoring of gathering for meal, warmth of tea and ease into a quieter environment from a swift day.  The heat of the candles twinkles our room and warms the space.  Phones are silenced.  We all are getting to know one another openly as we state our truths practicing checkins and ice breaker games to form our safety as a group.  We revisit daily our rules of safety established as a group and edit, build each week.

Monthly Tuition & Scholarship Requests
Once a month our tuition covers our qualified facilitator's compensation/trainings, snack costs and utilities.  Close to 80% of our current participants require full scholarships.  Please consider becoming a sponsor to these Amazing Island Teens who bravely sit in the fire to learn loving methods to create healthy and meaningful relationships with Self and Supports.
Please contact Emily Kellow-Graham vashonmauryttc@gmail.com how to become a sponsor for our Vashon Teen Talking Circle and please check out www.teentalkingcircles.org for more information on this community transformative work!
If you cannot facilitate and you seek to support, thank you for your donation!
