A Teen Talking Circle
that provides a safe space where Teens can:

Share
what is really seen, heard, felt, and known, in order to stay connected with
self and in relationships. Learn
how to support self and others.
Finding strength to speak from the heart.

Explore
sense of self, and the many ways social, historical, political, economic, and
physical realities impact teen lives.
·
Meet
and learn along-side amazing community mentors during guest speaker visits and fieldtrips. Hear and ask questions of past Teen
Talking Circle project participants.
·
Space
to deconstruct issues in the safety of a non-judgmental environment working on
listening communication from a Compassionate Listening format. Identify and work to change negative
behavioral patterns.
·
Learn
and Practice Compassionate Listening.
·
Learn
what it takes to maintain healthy, sustainable relationships
Teen Talking Circles are not considered therapy, and we cannot perform the role of therapists. Should issues arise that are beyond our
professional capacity, we will contact guardians and provide a list of trained,
professional counselors or therapists.
In addition, we are legally mandated to inform guardians and/or Child
Protective Services if your child shares something with us, in or out of
Circle, that we feel is dangerous to their self or others. Please visit www.teentalkingcircles.org

Facilitator Emily Graham: Emily took a ten-year break from her five
years of work as Co & Lead Facilitator and Trainer of Teen Talking Circle
on Bainbridge Island. She was trained,
mentored and co-facilitated with Teen Talking Circle Project Director, Linda
Wolf. Emily is Owner/
Director and Lead Teacher of Klahanie School, Vashon Island since 2009. Emily is deeply invested in the
development and nurturing of emotional intelligence exploration education and
intuitive listening for youth as a positive preventative tool to learn and
practice. The method of
storytelling and learning to listen openly without judgment is a core component
for Emily and the work of talking circles. Emily focuses attention and doula support to families who
hold a deceased baby/child in the family fabric.
